The Election of River State Governor Nyesome Wike of the Peoples Democratic Party has been upheld by the Supreme court
The court validated the April 11 governorship election but has not given the reasons for the judgement, it said the details for the verdict would be provided on 12th of February 2016.
The River state tribunal had earlier on October 24th nullified Wike’s election, and the Court of Appeal affirmed the judgement of the tribunal on December 16th
The Election in the state was highly criticised by local and international observers, the observers noticed the largest amount of violence during and after the election
